Grand Island Surgery Center, LLC was established in the summer of 1998 as a joint venture between a group of Grand Island physicians and Saint Francis Medical Center. The building project began in October 1998 and was completed in October 1999. The first case was performed on October 12, 1999, following the state's inspection and licensure. Medicare approval was granted on October 28, 1999.

Grand Island Surgery Center specializes in outpatient surgery. The Center contains 4 major operating rooms fully equipped with the latest in operating technology. In addition, there are 2 rooms designated for gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures.

We specialize in outpatient surgery, with four major operating rooms and two dedicated gastrointestinal endoscopy suites. Procedures span 16 specialties, including general surgery, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, urology, pain management and gastroenterology.

How do I pay my bill online?
You can pay securely through our online patient portal — visit the Billing page and select "Pay Here" — or call (308) 384-6400 for help. Payment plans are available through CareCredit, and financial assistance applications can be requested by phone.
What should I bring on the day of my surgery?
Bring your driver's license and insurance card(s), wear loose, comfortable clothing and slip-on shoes, and do not eat or drink anything for 6 hours beforehand. Please arrange for someone to drive you home and stay with you during recovery.
Which insurance plans do you accept?
We participate with Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Coventry Health Care of Nebraska, Great Plains Health, Midlands Choice, Tricare, Railroad Retirement Board and Workers' Compensation, and we are always adding more. If you don't see your plan, please contact us.
